Hello! I hope everyone is doing well.
After several years of non-maintenance, the HS forums database has finally succumbed to spam. If you've dropped by here in the past couple of years, you've already seen that it was a problem, and I hadn't done very much to curtail it since the site was mostly inactive.
Today, I was contacted by my hosting provider, and they informed me that the database was being overwhelmed by spammers to the point that it was affecting the server's performance and causing problems for other users. Naturally, they disabled the database temporarily, pending action from me to correct the problem.
There's no point in me trying to halt the onslaught at this stage (a lost cause if there ever was one), so
I'm just disabling the forum altogether. I'll still have access to the database itself, though, and if any
of my fellow nerds want a copy of the SQL dump to sift through for old times' sake, let me know. And I'd
love to just hear how you're doing these days, so any of you can always feel free to drop me a line at
t@tmh.cc.
Speaking of old times, I can't help but remark that I continue to look back fondly on the HS years. There are too many great memories to recount, so I won't bore you with yet another "story time". I'd just like to say one last big thank you to all of you who were around then. Great times were had by all.
With luck, our paths will cross again. And if they don't, then may you all lead long and rewarding lives, both in virtual realms and, most importantly, in this one.
